New Adult Child & Infant CPR

Description: |
This course teaches the participant how to perform CPR on an adult victim, and procedures for obstructed airway and mouth to mouth resuscitation for the adult victim. Heart disease prevention information is also included. Designed for anyone who cares for children. Combines video, live demonstrations, hands-on practice. Use the EMS system effectively, recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in infant and children under 8 years old, develop an emergency action plan, prevent and reduce hazards in the home and play areas. Certification in AED Automated External Defibrillator is an option with any CPR course for an additional charge. (Please ask for information at time of registration.) All course materials are provided. Casual clothes are appropriate because you will be practicing and demonstrating learned skills on mannequins on the floor. Classes begin promptly at the stated time. Please be on time and plan to stay the entire length of the course. Certification will not be given for those coming late or leaving early. To receive certification, you must demonstrate successfully all of the required skills and pass the written tests with a score of 80 percent or higher. All classes subject to change or cancel.
